My name is Debbie and I have been an EYFS leader and class teacher in the Weston area for the last 13 years. I am passionate about children’s early development and providing children with a fun, engaging and exciting environment for them to explore and discover through different instruments, music genres, games and movement. When I’m not in class, I am a very active member of a local musical theatre group and enjoy nothing more than being centre stage and in costume! The Jolly Melodies Music Company has been part of my life for the last 9 years, and I have attended classes with both of my daughters.
I joked that I would need to have another child to continue, so instead I have joined the company! The classes provided me with a valued network of ‘mum friends’ who have become life long friends as a result. I strongly believe that as much as the class is for lovely little ones to have fun, it’s equally a place to meet other parents/carers from the area.

About My Classes

I currently run classes across 3 diffferent venues in and around Weston-super-Mare Monday to Thursday.
Our Jolly Babies enjoy exploring music in many ways. Each class includes action songs, bouncing, dancing, and rocking as well as lots of opportunities to play instruments. We love the listening time and incorporate gentle sensory experiences into this section. Adults relish this shared one to one time with their babies and also benefit from the company of other parents and carers. Welcome from newborn to confident walkers (around 15 months).
Our Jolly Toddlers are very busy learning and enjoying many basic musical concepts and each half term brings a new theme, anything from Transport to Our Home, Christmas to Colours. Each class is carefully structured to allow the children to access all parts of it at their own level. There are plenty of actions, dancing and props to keep little ones engaged in the music and, of course, lots of exciting musical instruments to play! I am hoping to expand classes to other areas in Weston in the near future. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

R is due to finish music with mummy soon and I just wanted to thank you so much. Your sessions have been amazing, beautifully resourced and so engaging whilst meeting everyone’s needs! You make all of the mums feel so comfortable which is important especially for that first venture out to a class! I was nervous! However, your smiley face made me feel instantly at ease. You are a natural and so loved by everyone who comes to your classes! Ronnie absolutely adores you. I will look forward to returning with baby number 2 one day so don’t go anywhere!!!

Had 2 sessions now with Debbie, music with mummy is such a really lovely class!!
She doesn’t expect children to be focused for long periods of time as she knows exactly what they are like. Such a fun class with so much fun going on all the time and lots of props used…learning from singing, to tidying, to rhymth, so much they learn from this class I could go on and say alot more!!
Debbie is very laid back and such a welcoming person from the first time you meet her.
I started going due to my son being quite shy round children and wanted something to gain his confidence so focused on what he loves.
He all ready started coming out of himself in his second session and so lovely for me to see, this is all down to Debbie and the activities she does with the children. Thank you so much.
