Hello! I’m Katie and I started my journey with The Jolly Melodies Music Company (formerly named Music with Mummy) when my little girl Mabel was just 6 weeks old. I found the classes to be such a lifeline for me as a new mum, firstly the joy of spending precious time bonding with my new baby but also to simply get out of the house (we all know that struggle) and socialise with other like-minded parents.
With a background in singing and a passion for children’s education in early years, I felt starting my own franchise an easy decision to make. I am privileged to be able to share so many firsts with families – first word, first step, first clap… and getting to know groups of children and their carers is so rewarding. I have seen first-hand with Mabel the wonderful development stages she has gone through whilst attending classes and now can’t wait to share that same journey with you and your little ones!

About My Classes

Classes are a fun and friendly way for you and your child to go on a musical journey together. Whilst you can enjoy a relaxed and social environment your child will develop a range of skills. Using percussion instruments, action songs, musical games and concepts they will learn more about their world and experiences whilst also teaching listening skills. The music we use is drawn from a mix of traditional favourites and original songs specifically aimed to educate and delight your child every step of the way.

JOLLY BABIES encourages early social skills, bonding between baby and parent and early speech development. It also gives parents the opportunity to meet and make friends other parents. Recommended age 0 – 15 months.

JOLLY TODDLERS (previously known as Music With Mummy) is a structured programme of pre-school music education. With a new theme each half term it really is a continuous leaning journey for you little ones (and most importantly so much fun)! Recommended age 16 months – pre-school.

I currently run classes in Wallingford on Tuesday and Didcot on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. Being new to the area and coming out of a long lockdown starting a music class for Beth was something I was really keen to try. I’ve never tried baby classes really apart from when she was about 3 months old but I didn’t enjoy it.

I have to say, you have been amazing!!! You have given Beth confidence to start socialising with other adults and children as she became quite shy over the last year or so. She really looks forward to class each week And I can’t explain how much I have enjoyed watching her gain in confidence over the last two terms, she was joining in dancing and chatting and singing.
