Hello, I’m Katie, welcome to Jolly Melodies!
I imagine you have found yourself here looking for something to do with a baby or toddler and well, you’ve found just the right place!
Whether you’re a Mum, Dad, Grandparent or anyone else who is looking after a little one you will be made to feel very welcome in my classes. I run Jolly Babies (suitable from birth) and Jolly Toddlers (suitable from 15 months) classes every week in BS13 and BS14.
I know how daunting attending a new class can be so I will do everything I can to make that first step that little bit easier from the moment you get in touch. I remember attending my first Jolly Babies class with my daughter, Penny, I was so anxious but after those first few classes I felt at ease and it quickly became our favourite class to attend.
My classes offer so many benefits for babies and toddlers but are also a great way to get out of the house every week. If you’d like some more information please drop me a message on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or email me. I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.
In classes we enjoy singing, dancing, percussion, bubbles and some calm down time during every class. I sing a mixture of well known and original songs which quickly become firm favourites to sing around the home. Each class is carefully planned to incorporate a range of learning opportunities and ways to help babies and toddlers develop.
For Jolly Babies we do lots of waving, clapping, bouncing and a few simple dances. You’ll notice we repeat songs and actions as it’s so important during those early months to help them develop new skills.
For Jolly Toddlers we have a different theme each term which includes musical concepts such as loud and soft, long and short sounds. I also help the little ones with other important skills like sharing, taking turns, building confidence, listening, making new friends, following instructions and lots more. Some of my favourite themes are Home, Christmas, Eggs ,Pets and Transport! These are structured classes but there is no expectation for toddlers to sit still, my classes always incorporate movement and props so there’s plenty to keep them engaged!

"Zachary has been going to Jolly Babies since he was seven weeks old. When you have a baby that little there’s not a lot of groups they are ready for but Jolly Babies was suitable for him right from the beginning. It gave me the start of a routine to my maternity leave. He’s enjoyed it all the way through up to when I’ve had to go back to work. Katie is so welcoming and makes you feel at ease. She knows your babies name from the first lesson and the welcome song where she says hello to each baby is so personal and lovely. I’ve met some great mums from the group and still meet up with a couple from there. Just a lovely little group and highly recommend to anyone. " Natalie Emma via Facebook
"We’ve been coming to Katie’s classes since my little one was a few weeks old and in the almost year we’ve been coming he has learnt so much! He learnt to clap because of these classes and you can see his confidence growing. Katie is a lovely person too and so welcoming." Aimee Leacy via Facebook
"Liam had his last day at music with mummy’s on Monday with Katie. Katie is brilliant , she has so much energy and really engages with the children. Liam missed out on any baby groups for the first year due to covid and was a little shy when he first joined, Katie didn’t push him into anything , just tried to include him when ever he would let her, a few months on he was joining in , singing songs , Groovy dancing and helping to put away the instrument box ! We are incredibly sad to being leaving but very excited about his journey to nursery !! Thank you Katie xx" Natalie Proud via Facebook
